After, I finished my six-long years of battling the foes of student life in primary level, I sighed with compassion that it’s over! This is the time that I should move ahead to the next and tougher arena-the High School. At first, I found it so confusing as to where I would enroll myself seeing as my town Kapalong is being surrounded with many competent secondary schools. But after having considered many concerns, it was Kapalong National High School that won among many choices. Then High school life begins.

KNHS is one of the most numbered in terms of students. Like MCES, it also existed long time ago. Viewed as it is, KNHS has also passed many changes and most of it is achievements. Though the area is not as large as compared to Maniki Central Elementary School, the environment is more on student’s academic and curricular development. Sections are being named according to flowers, heroes, trees and zodiac signs. Here, the students are being nurtured with relevant things to appreciate the beauty of life and learn how to work with for tomorrow’s innovation. Though there is still spoon-feeding method, but what the school is maximizing is the student’s exposure in the actual field for this is more effective as compared to the former.

Factually, KNHS is one of the schools seen as threat at any competitions whether in the sports or in the academic field. It has proven that it is capable of nurturing students that are really competitive and have really that desire and capacity to strive for gold. Communication Arts Festival, Press Conference, Quiz Bee, District Meet, just name it, KNHS will always be on top with this competition. It has also sent many national level qualifiers for the said events and even brought home the beacon in the National Competition. Wouldn’t be amazing?  Credit must therefore be given to the teachers for doing such an exemplary job in making the best in the student’s skills and talents. They are indeed the unsung heroes coaching and providing the learners with the best lyrics to create a very melodious song-the learning.  

High School year was perhaps the biggest challenge yet joyful experience that I have faced in my life.  This is the time where all of us have undergone drastic changes in our personalities. But despite of this, I continue the cruise for I believe that there are more of these ahead which truly tougher from what I had gone through before.

“Today’s student is tomorrow’s citizen”. That is often been told. School is the very place that has been the source of life in the society. It is where everyone is placed and transplanted starting up from a very fragile, raw and neo to a complete, matured and well-rounded individual on whom the society has relied into. It is the one and the only environment designed where certain qualities of life and certain types of activities and occupations are provided with the object of child's development.

As I continuously cruising my way towards the fulfillment of my dreams, I realize how lucky I was to be with an educational system primarily on my elementary and secondary years for it’s a veracity that among all, the institution that nurtured me is one of a kind, had passed the test of times and had been proven to the world that it is worthy for its recognition as an archetype builder of anyone’s future. However, as we get through with our long journey in a pursuit of intelligence and wisdom, we must learn how to look back and treasure the experiences we had during those years for as what they said “The child is the father of man”. We would certainly not on our pace now without passing of such erratic stage of life.
